MB, how have you found getting the HU in with the extra bulk? I am using a Modifry unit which is remotely installed from the HU and even the extra cable bulk from the harness/HU USB connections alone made life a little tricky, there is not a lot of room back there!

You can tuck that unit under the bottom of the heater area on top of the transmission tunnel.

Alpine metal amp box goes to the left of the aperture and the cables and plugs go to the right. There is ample space up and to the right however if you try and force the Alpine metal box up there, it shorts out the Aux fuse

RCA cables must be fed to the left also.

I've got 3 RCA cables, an Alpine BT kit, the Incartec adapter and it all fits - if a little snug. Both the BT and the Incartec slot nicely on top of the transmission tunnel.

HI Sin,

It's a struggle even without the dash control box (i've left it out for now) and it's a bugger to try and push things into the right place before inserting the HU.

I've had enough of cars for a week!

Ok I got the dash control box in before I left - but cannot get the HU in far enough to completely get the facia in place.

The bottom is sticking out a bit such that i can't close the radio door.

I've fiddled and fiddled but it's bloody hard trying to shoehorn things around

Couple of hints.

Feed ALL the wiring in before you fit the HU. All you need free on the loom is enough to get it in the back of the unit.

There is space to the back left of the dash aperture and to the back right, there is also space under the heater duct if you're careful. There is no space for BFI and simply trying to wiggle it into place, you have to locate all the wires and that stupid metal box before you fit the radio in.

Stupid metal box can only go to the LEFT of the aperture, it shorts a fuse out if you push it down the right hand side.

Have you checked to see if you can move the brackets on the side of the HU IIRC there is more than one set of locating positions for the Honda brackets.

MB you're only too old when

a/ You look at the installation guidelines and can't make head nor tail of it so get someone else to do it.
or,
b/ Your body won't let you get into the position you need to do the install.

Believe me I know, through personal experience, on both counts

Unfortunately I have no useful info to give you. Sorry

If you take off the side panels in the footwells you can normally pull some of the mess away down there, depending on what you have in there. This is where my modifry unit lives.
