Default AM Reception

Hi there,
I've just replaced the stock head unit with a brand new JVC one. FM is great, AM is terrible.
The aerial cable has been merged with a green (and something, white or yellow i think) stripped wire, which I thought would power it.

I'm using the strippy blue and white wire to power my sub.

Please help. I've spent a couple of hours on search. It's been mentioned but there isn't a clear enough solution. Often on the older pages, diagrams are no long there.

Do you need AM or is it just an annoyance I've not used it for years.
