Thumbs up AMP Required

Just purchased a new Head Unit (Alpine 9853R) 50w x4 high power output, KCA-420i (IPOD adapter), KCE 865B adapter and Infinity speakers. Having it all fitted next weekend, however the bloke in the shop was also trying to flog me a separate power amp. Do I really need a separate amp ? any thoughts

What model speakers have you bought?
You need to look at the power handling of them compared to the head unit.
He is probably right if you want a well balanced system.

worth spending a bit more on front speakers in my opinon, then you can always amp them at a later date. have a look around before you palce the order may well find a better deal elsewhere.
