Default Another Boot Leak Thread

As per title - boot is leaking. At first it seemed to be coming in through a bad weld seam on the quarter panel to boot joint (the one in the boot rain channel either side). I sealed that up with some silicon. Still leaking and it appears that it is coming in underneath that little bit of body panel (1" x 6"). I dont know the technical name for it....(guessing its some sort of rain channel) one each side of the boot lid running to the roof.

Does anybody know how to remove this? I took the screw out that holds it in place but it doesnt seem to want to come out and I dont want to snap it.

Mine had a leak from this area aswell. It sounds like you were in the same boat as me and have had a new quarter panel at some stage. To remove those little panels, remove the screw as you already have and slide the panel towards the back of the car, its held in place on a little tab. It might be a little gunked up but it should slide out.

With this removed you will see the join/weld. Give this a good coating of sealant and this should stop the leak.

Ok good stuff, thanks Mark. I did start to bend it upwards and had some horrible visions of 1 bit becoming 2. Shall try it tonight cheers.
