Another engine thread :(
Hi guys.
Just a little update for you - many thanks for all your recommendations.
Garage-R has come up trumps with a low-mileage MY04 - not sure how to get it down from the midlands to where the car is (at Eurospec)... never bought such a thing before!
It's sad that the car has to have a heart transplant (and at a financially slippery time of year too), but I'm hoping it'll be as good as new when it's resurrected.
It had passed my mind to scrap it but there's too much love for the little tiger.
Thanks again for all your help - will keep you updated

My car went kaboom in June last year. I searched high and low for the cheapest best option and ended up Taking a bit of a risk and getting Dewsbury Auto Salvage in Leeds to do the job. Was very cheap but they picked the car up on a flatbed and drove up to Leeds (10hour drive), did all the work and supplied the engine for £2800.
They have an excellent german head Mechanic who did mine. They claimed it was a 2006 engine with 18,000 miles on it and I never believed them when they failed to provide the documentation. However, when I got the car dyno'd engine checked with full oil change and checkover service, it produced 230bhp!
so maybe they were telling the truth after all. Mitt be worth a call if funds are tight and you need a cheaper option like I did at the time (was still at Uni and just forked out £££'s for wedding

Drop Andy an email, he is the guy who strips ITR's.
He has a few S2000 engines lying around that are looking for new homes.

New engine is in!
Just had a word with Ben @ Eurospec2000 and he says it runs well although a little bit tappetty. He's taking it home with him tonight to make sure everything's good to go before he spanks my wallet next week.
It's been much less of a fiasco thanks to you guys and your recommendations. Thank you.

QUick search suggests heater matrix leaking or Aircon drain not connected, if the engine has just been replaced, it would be worth checking that all the coolant pipes are connected securely.

Just my luck... been told that there's a load of coolant in the footwell now...

Not good.
Hope it's all sorted soon.
Just a thought, that Atom has a nice engine that could've fitted
