Default ap1 ecu into an ap2

A yank has replaced his ap2 ecu with an ap1 ecu.
For all those who dont know (not many ), the ap2 is 2.2L but revs to 8000rpm.

What do you reckon about this?, any point?

cheers

Poor Irv, I thought it was interesting on several points;

1. The sheer drivellatiousness of some of the posts. After an infinite period, the script of "Hamlet" may appear.

2. No-one seems particularly concerned that the different mapping is causing lean-out, apparently. Hello engine detonation.

3. The mean piston velocity causes greatly accelerated bore wear at 9K on the long-stroke engine. Hello early rebore.

It's a bit like saying it revs to 11,000. Well, it does, but only for about 15 seconds.

I guess someone eventually was going to try it out!.

Im still waiting to see how the yanks fair with the inline pro 2.7 litre jobby!

Now i reckon there will be some early engine deaths there!, can you imagine what the pistons will be doing!!

I recall Brian felt that the 2.2 could be upgraded relatively simply so that it could rev to 9k with a good degree of reliability but the US boys don't seem to have made any preventative upgrades.
