Well I wouldn't call my headunit cheap thats for sure and it was also installed professionally it is just a fact of the circuitry between the autoleads wiring and the Parrot BT kit that is used in alpines, TBH i've never used a mute button before don't need one now lol

Yeah, I have an audioleads on my JVC.

It gets a bit crowded in there:

Works absolutely fine

I've got one too with my Alpine headunit. Mute button doesn't work because the Parrott kit in the head unit won't allow the unit in any car to mute with the phone kit turned on. It's a bit odd and I don't know why but it's part of the design (see the instructions). Took me ages to work out it wasn't a fault (particularly as you can hear the relay click when you press the mute button!)

Cable is excellent tho!

So since I haven't got the parrot h/f kit, I should be able to get the mute button to work with my setup and Alpine HU?

I assume so. When you press the mute button you can hear the relay click and if you turn off the handsfree option the mute button works so the issue is the headunit not the lead. If your headunit does not have this anomaly the mute button will work fine.
