Default Battery on key fob flat

I noticed today the battery went flat on the keyfob, now it wont lock the car (managed to early this morn before battery went flat). I have the OEM alarm system etc.

I have a spoon ECU so the imobiliser isnt intergrated.

Question is: can i still put the keys in and press the start button and she will start?? (Thought you had to unlock via fob, put keys in then press start button).

I cant get to the car ATM and didnt want to try after a parked up this morning as i thought i might need to heat up the battery, i have another Fob at home so thats no problem.

I locked the car via the keys, but it was unlocked from this morning when i first started the car and had no battery issues.

G'day mate,

You can just unlock the car with the key and start it up no problems at all.

I have had a similar problem with my JDM and done it the way, I have explained above

Tried the old 'heat up the battery' on the hot plate residing on the coffee machine, it worked

does anyone know where you can get the battery for the OEM alarm immobiliser from?? It's the one with the rectangular fob, two buttons - not the grey honda one.....everywhere I've tried has told me there's no such battery as the one I took out....

There is, you can easily find them on the internet, remind me and i shall tell you which one you need.

I have 2 different ones, the first OEM one and then second smaller type

I had a similar problem the other day.....

when i opened the key fob i just checked that the battery was dead by filiing the contacts and bending them to hold the battery better.....

It turns out that the battery was fine. It must have just dislodged after falling out of my pocket.

Worth a check
