I know the DFVs very well. I was referring to "proper" ohlins for race cars which cost big money.

Nothing Phil, but Ohlins are better built in my opinion and therefore my money would be going there.
But that's what I asked. Would be interesting to know peoples views, Opinions experiences , after all this is whatthis thread is about and the forum is for

The major advantage of going for KW3's Nitron or PSS9's is that they can be re-built relatively easily if they need to be in this country. If you source Japan stuff to include Tein and use the cars on track etc they can need re-building after a while, this is a pain as servicing is difficult and I believe Ohlins Europe will not touch the Japanese DFV's (but this may have changed since I enquired).

There is no doubt that the HKS Hypermax is also very good, unfortunately they are too expensive in this country so not many poeple have tried them.

I'm pretty sure TEIN UK will happily service your dampers!

But yes on the whole, Japanese dampers should be avoided in that they cost bomb due to exchange rates!

Still, i'm more than happy with my Monoflex

Service them in the UK, are you sure as I really have no idea? If it involves shipping to Japan to do it and shipping back at your cost it would be very expenisive and would take at least 3 months.

Adrian, Spencer (black charged civic) just had his rebuilt by Tein uk in a couple of week turn about. He had a good chat with them and they stock a lot of rebuild parts for the most common cars dampers.

Cool

Buy a decent quality unit and it won't need an annual rebuild

Anyhow we're off topic, the original post from Dredd (who is probably now wondering what the heck happened) asked about best setup, not what BRAND is best.
We all know the answer to that - it's the one you bought
