So after the engine swap, assuming that all goes well.... what are you doing to beef the chassis up? Are there further mods to brakes/suspension/bracing and do you think it might be wise to include a TC system to save you from hedge action? Wheel size/tyres another big consideration, to make your project more perfect. Look forward to seeing, and sincerely hope you can make it more driveable than a Turbo'd S.
Many questions i know, but pertinent ones

Good questions!
Thankfully I have been blessed with reasonable fabrication skills so I'll be makings few braces once its all in.
I've recently stuck some BC coil overs on and my god they've improved the handling no end!
I have some rear over fenders and I'm currently researching wider front wing options. So despite my wheels being only 7 months old I will be after some new ones! Haha
I have a full set of braided lines for the brakes along with a 304mm Ksport 6 pot front brake set with grooved discs and yellow stuff pads, not the biggest I know but I got them at a good price, if need be I'll go bigger, for now I've just put ebc yellow stuff pads in the rears.

You'll have to enlighten me to as what you mean by TC system, I'm guessing traction control? If so I've never driven a car with it apart from when I test drove my mates 325 e46 BMW, I found that it just kept interfering and throwing me off what I was doing I understand what it's there for, but I struggle to get along with it haha
I turned it off and found the drive much more enjoyable.

Can't quite put my finger on what's wrong ..

Today or tomorrow night I shall be trimming the engine bay and if progress goes well I'll also weld in some plate for the holes I create.

Parts that need trimming:

Both parts that lead from the frame rails back to the transmission tunnel.

The front cross member (it was butchered to help get the engine and box out together)
This will be replaced with an adequate custom cross member.

I already have a second subframe which has the engine mounts trimmed off and holes plated and welded.
Consequently this subframe is for sale, check my FS thread!!

Stand by for thread update with pictures some point this afternoon.

Front crossmember is no more and the bracings from the rails to the tunnel are also no more.
Needs tidying up and a couple bits welding in which is tonights job so be gentle with your opinions on this current stage

Bad news, Engine won't arrive early october, looking more like the end.
This however allows me to take my time with the engine bay.
I never used to be too bothered about the state of my bays, however since starting this swap I've decided that I'd like it to be kinda tidy and respectable.

Was supposed to be doing a bit tonight but work is going to be busy.
Next update should be some point this weekend, about to have 4 days off to relax and recharge, 20 hour days are killing me!

Finalising the race rules tomorrow night, I'll put a copy up.

Considering how often you bonnet will be up (to show off that beast) you may as well make the effort to make it look as good as possible.
I'll even let you do mine if you do a good job!!

That's the logic I'm going on
Are you asking me to clean your bay or do the swap for you?
Chopping my car up is scary enough let alone someone else's!

I've come up with a lovely x style brace today that'll replace my strut brace and cross member, it'll come from the strut tops down to a centre piece and back out to the frame rails just a little bit further forward of the original cross member. I'll probably get it powdercoated too.

I came up with another idea too but I've since forgotten! haha

The guy I have a bet with is trying to back out after being tipped off that his car would be far below the ability of mine.
Goes to show you can't trust anyone with secrets, oh well!
