Looks like I've found another thing to add to next years list of mods!

That's how it is Carl, apart from my engine swap I've got things to do but I'm betting ill still have jobs to do next winter and the winter after.

I'd start getting your hoses and ends as soon as, then it won't be one big expense.

Found out what the fuel problem is.
The map.
In places my a/f gauge goes off the scale, mainly in my cruising rpms. I've been chucking out tonnes of unburnt fuel.
Drove the car a little slower (50mph) and the gauge read perfect and managed to get home from other side of hull on an 1/8th of a tank when driving it at 60 would have cost at least 1/3rd.

Car is off the road now to save any damage occurring, borrowing my friends mx5 for the rest of the month, then resurrecting my old micra which I'm giving to my brother when he passes his test.

All this means I can crack on with the tinkering early!

Good Man, I've done the same.My tax runs out the end of this month but I couldn't wait to start work on it again, Plus Bill wanted my engine as soon as possible.

I prefer to work on it than drive it.

I dunno about preferring to work on it, the looks I get from the public and the car park conversations are brilliant!
That and when it's whining/screaming it's tits off!
It's the best! But it is indeed enjoyable building something special, can't argue with that.

I had a plan for the car for the rest of the year but it has been changed up a little due to the 26th Oct mimms meet.

The car will be headed back to John sleath to finish the map on the 29th sept now I've got full throttle.
After that on the same day I'll head down to tamworth to drop the c ar off to be wrapped in satin black.
(before the wrap I'll have to sort out the rear arch bubbling/rust and fit my rear diffuser)
regain speedo and eps, I think I chopped out a small supply voltage for the engine bay loom which is why the coolant temp sensor isnt working for the dash (I have a seperate one for the omex ecu which does work)
fit new expensive cooling fad for the rad
fit oil pressure and coolant temp sensors and aftermarket gauges

After that the car will be garaged until the mimms meet, wheels will be powder coated just days before the show so they'll be nice and fresh.

THEN after the show it shall head back to my friend's garage for the bay shuffle and tidy and at the same time I'll be working on my R200 diff mounts(now from an S14, no longer using 350Z due to the amount of custom options available with this diff. bother are r200 diffs though there are slight differences with the 350Z one which make the parts non interchangeable with the other diffs)
Once the mounts are made I can measure up for the driveshafts and my prop shaft.
The mounts, diff and driveshafts will be compatible with anyone's S2 so if you want feel free to contact me regarding the kit, the prop though will have to be sourced seperately but I'll help out with the process if required. After the first person who gets a prop done everyone else can chill as the propshaft shop will have the measurements on file so they can just make up another one no sweat which will fit straight in.

Other mods include:
twin 3" aluminium intakes with V-band clamps for ease of fitting/removing.
two smaller air filters 9" long 4"-5/8 diameter one end and 6" the other.
water'/splash proof bags/covers for the filters
meth kit
reduce throttle body height, remove redundant idle stepper motor
move radiator backwards and tilt more upright
chop out bonnet catch and piece that goes across
two mini strut tower type things for the new rad mounts and bonnet pins
new neat coolant lines
custom coolant bottle, I like the idea of the motorbike nos bottle ones though I dont know if they work on the same principle or if they are big enough
relocate supercharger coolant pump to give more space for the rad
smooth out rocker covers and powder coat, black/red/gold opinions?
rebuild kit for the charger, powdercoat charger black/red/gold opinions?
coil pack bunch up/tidy up, custom ht leads to suit, wires to coil packs tidied/tucked
tuck power steering control unit
make the throttle cable and cam arrangement better
wrap and install the fender flares
new soft top
seats need retrim and heated elements in them.
cabin heaters could do with being piped up.
new clutch master cylinder as I pulled a couple of threads out of it acidentally

There is no current deadline to have this set of mods done by though I really like the idea of doing the UK power tour organised by V8UK, unfortuneatly the dates have not been finalised yet but it'll probably be early-mid May.
Not all the mods will be done by then though I'll try get as many done as possible.

Probably quite a few bits I've missed out but that's life.

Seems like the prop wasn't the only thing I broke on that fateful night.
My diff is making some rather clunky sounds.
Checked underneath and the back lash on the pinion shaft is insane, we're talking 15 degrees.
Checked on my spare one and theres nigh on none, nothing, nada.
Diagnosis? Terminal.

Needs replacing for monday's dyno day and I've been on nights last night and again tonight so I'm losing half days, I'm ill from being run down/lack of rest/covering a load of shifts.
The wrap is being done next week too and I haven't touched the body work yet. Might have to delay it thoguh I'd rather not.

Also the battery keeps going flat if I leave the car standing any more than 2-3 days. Suspect it's teh way we've wired the alternator signal wires up.

Have you thought about cryogenically treated the diff as temperature measure?

I have actually yes but I want to play around with diff ratios to find one I'm happy with first, it's far too short as it is.

Carl cars are fun mate but running yourself into the ground and getting ill is bad! If i was you i wouldn't worry too much until next spring. Your progress at times has been amazing especially as you are in full time work. Just take it easy and write the rest of this year off. That way you can do things without any pressure. Surprising what silly mistakes you can make when tired and under pressure.

Keep the updates coming thou as its been a good read from start to now
