Took under 45minutes to swap the diffs over. Investigated calliper to find the sliding pins aren't too bad but it's the piston that's buggered.
Getting a reconditioned one tomorrow, fit that then I can crack on with sorting out the body work ready for the wrap. It scares me but I'm going to have to draft in help from the girlfriend to do the prep for the wrap.

I'll be having a good rest on my 10 off I promise and I'll only potter around a little bit changing my fans over and installing temp/oil gauges that work.

I'll be in the inside hall at mimms so I kinda have to put a good chunk of effort in to get it spanking looking, after the map and wrap I'll have 20 days to have the wheels done, play with the bonnet fitment, fan, gauges, aftermarket audio control panel.

Should be plenty of time with some steady afternoon efforts and early nights with big lay ins.
Super lazy during my 10 off

The more astute members of this forum will be aware I have a fuel issue.
At around 2500rpm my fuel pressure drops in-proportionally to rpm increase from 59psi to figures as low as 22psi.
Meaning my aftermarket pump isn't good enough.
Enter the genius Mr Pitts. I'll be purchasing his twin carrier off him and running two pumps, because race car.

Anyway the low end throttle map was sorted and is now more than twice as efficient as before at cruising! Bonus! Might be able to make to London in one tank .... Not 3.

Dropped the car off at wrapstarz pro yesterday, should get it back on Sunday, pictures will be taken and uploaded.

Getting excited for mimms!

I will though I will tell you there's virtually no point as I won't rev it past 2500, though you will feel that crazy bottom end torque!

Im really loving thus progress Carl.
I know you where feeling a bit miffed at your last car show as no one had realised what work had gone in to the car, but i think thats a true testiment to your skills and the almost finished product.

I bet your looking forward to getting some better pumps and sorting the map so you can use more of the rev range

If you want too increase economy even more use o2 feedback in partial throttle and idle.

You're going to have to educate me as to what you mean, sounds interesting though

I'm not so much miffed about them not knowing what my engine is, it's the fact that they don't know what a standard S2 is supposed to look like.
I went to the posty cruise the other night and I had a lad asked me why I took the K20 out of the car.
My reply: "I didn't"
"Then who did?"
"No one did"
"It must have had an engine to begin with?"
"It did, the F20c"
"What's one of those?"

I had another guy think it was standard, another thought I'd just charged it, the crazy thing is I was parked next to a f@#king vxr8!!!
The owner of which loved the swap had a nice conversation with him and seemed to know his shit.

I had one lad ask all the regular questions like how much bhp, how long did it take, how much. Then, he asked where the turbo was.
*face palm*
Then as he thanked me for my time and walked away my gf heard him say "he's just here to show off, he's got too much money"
She told me on the way home which is a good job because I wouldn't have had many nice words for him pulling that one. I was patient with him and his questions and he had the audacity to say that to his friends afterwards.
I understand you get that wherever you go but if you're gonna do it make sure it's out of ear shot at least.
I'm proud of what my friends and I have achieved and learnt, the last thing we want is shitting on after all our effort.

I'm assuming at mimms there will be a lot more people who know what the car should be like and therefore understand just how much effort has been put in.

I'm tempted to knock up a pedestal with a picture book of progress pictures, should help give an indication.

Never mind eh?

A more accurate way of controlling fuel during partial throttle taking into account differing conditions of day temperature wise etc, and smoother fueling/map.

Not hard just needs setup, setup it up hard coded first.

That's precisely why I never go to South Monggs meets; your car has more BHP than the combined IQ of the attendees. It's a eugenicist's paradise.

I don't think any other car show is quite that proletarian. But the SAE doesn't do car shows, unfortunately.
