Bourbon's S6000
If it's mapped right, smooth as silk, we've used quite a few and the last one on the V10 buggy was just like butter, it felt like a DSG gearbox - we do plenty of road miles in traffic to and from stages and it's never even a worry/thought.
Went to hull motor show yesterday.
Gorgeous weather and loads of friendly people.
Plenty of attention though I was disheartened when I noticed that a good portion of people had no idea it was a non standard engine, I'd go as far to say that they didn't even know what an S2000 was in the first place.
Had a good chat with a few people who ran other clubs, got a couple of nominations for most modified and best engine bay, didn't win. Not overly fussed because I had a good time, made a few peoples day, made a baby cry and a 6yo kid run away from his parents just by blipping the throttle, his dad made him come back then told me to really rev it. So I did. Haha it was hilarious but at the same time I felt guilty.
Didn't get to hang around my car and chat about it as I did the voting form for our club which meant I had to judge the other cars on other stands. It led me to meet a guy who is unable to walk but has built a rally car with full hand controls, he told me to sit in the seat and he taught me through them. Mega respect. Awesome car with very high quality craftsmanship in it.
Here's a photo that has cropped up from the day, I love it!

Paid for some front over fenders the other day from the states, custom jobbies and only around 9 sets are for sale.

Can't wait for them! I hope they tie into the same style as the asm/shine rears that I have as much as I think they will.
Found the bearing numbers for my gearbox, buying them tomorrow, £30 including the input shaft seal, nice easy rebuild though I'll be cleaning it out first thoroughly. Bit of dextron3, 4 hours to swap it over and then my friend can have his box back and we can commence on putting a 5.7Ls1 on carbs into his silver mk1 Mx5!
We (myself and my friends who run the garage and the others who frequent it) have got a bit of a taste for swaps now.
My gf's caddy will be getting a 1.9TDI engine some point next year and air ride.
Another friend has a 1.8T Audi engine in his mk3 golf and he's constantly upgrading and changing it.
Another one has an s40 Volvo which is getting an Evo engine in it (same mounting pattern) but the engine is in bits waiting on parts from the states.
It's like an east coast version of S2ki's "the garage blog" only I can get there without it costing me £100 for a round trip haha
Also got big plans for the car, I want to change quite a few things in the bay, smarten it up, lick of paint on a few things, tuck a couple of parts here and there.
Should be starting my diff conversion in a couple of weeks when some bits turn up, excited!
Set myself a deadline of fast show 2015 to have several bits done in order to safely put down some times down the strip.

So yeah, this happened the other night.
Stupid me tried to do a burn out and the rear prop joint rejected 3 ball bearings, bearing cage and a section of the rubber boot.
I had to tap the bearings out as they were firmly lodged in, You can see where the balls have split open the (cup/housing/thing that bolts to the diff)
It's mad the force at which they were sent with.
The front joint on the prop was a typical universal joint (like what you see on a truck when it drives past you) was still intact. It is obviously designed to take a lot more than our honda version.
Looks like the balls have slid off the end of the track, driveline shunt/vibration/flex must have pulled them too close to the edge, maybe a spacer to effectively shorten the prop a little?
Saying that, you shouldn't really use a U-joint one end and a CV the other, it puts pulses through the drivetrain as a U-joint isn't constant velocity without a matched pair...

The final straw was me attempting a brutal burn out, I didn't hold back so I completely deserved it :/
Managed to fix it, had a spare prop shaft so I took the end off and fitted to my custom one, back on the road within 18 hours, and it was only that long because I went to sleep and had to go to my gf's nephew's 6th birthday party. I don't like kids at the best of times so that party really wasn't my bag, all I could think about was fixing my car!
