Default Broken Aeroscreen!

Lowering my hood the other day - this happened:

I know that one has to be careful to ensure that these full-size Rick's screens are not folded back when the soft top is lowered, to avoid damage to the hood or rear window but, as can be seen from the photo, the screen was in the 'up' position, and so should have cleared the hood.

I immediately raised the hood to see whether it had been damaged but both the hood and the rear window are perfectly OK.

One of life's little mysteries, I suppose. I think I shall have to have a three-quarter-height replacement made up by a local plastics company.

That seems wierd, it being caught by the roof.

I wonder if a stress fracture (due to upper part flexing unsupported in the air flow) weakened it?

I reckon you are right, Nick.

It seems to be the most feasible answer. I really must drive more slowly in future.

So!

I thought I could smell burning rubber when we drove through Condom, but it was obviously the aeroscreen screaming in agony!
