Default The Buddy Club report - A thousand miles in...

Well after almost a thousand miles, I thought I'd report on the BC I bought from that nice Floppy fella.

It looks great and the neighbours haven't complained (yet) but it's loud. Not incredibly offensively loud, not ricer raspy loud. It's got a nice deep note but it does make my letterbox rattle when Ali pulls it back onto the drive.

I love the outward pointing of the tailpipes

It does drone at around 3krpm although fortunately I spend very little time at those revs. It's quite boomy though. The big question is, can I live with it for the 2500 miles we will be doing to the south of france and back in August on our annual jaunt?

I think the answer to that is probably but I think I am gonna take some earplugs just in case it gets a bit much.

Pics and vids to follow when my modifry camera mount arrives over the next few days (I hope).

I think I'm going to keep my HKS too though, just in case.

The boom on a motorway run did my head in but I'm glad you're enjoying it! It does sound amazing though so I suppose it's the whole opportunity cost kind of situation!

Sounds like the same story as my Invidia N1 mate.

Motorway drone is horrendous, but sit at 55 or 80 and it's non existant with me

Is it boomier (is that even a word?!) than the HKS? I gave mine up because the drone did my head in on that?!

It's boomerising effect is akin to driving a 4 door car down the motorway with just the rear windows open.

Put some motor bike wadding of Rockwell in between the disk in the bungs, it helps.

or add a resonator.

I agree, i added some steel wool to mine for our NCT (Irish MOT) and it passed the noise level tests.... although i still think they were 50/50 on it and just said "meh tis grand". It does lessen the noise though.
