Cables to gearbox
Whilst under my car today on a separate job, I noticed a cable was unplugged. The two ends of it clip together where the O2 sensor cables mate between their cables from the engine and their respective sensor cables. This mystery cable branches off from the O2 cable wiring coming from the engine direction and finally terminates by being plugged into the offside of the gearbox. There is a separate connector on the nearside of the gearbox but that was fine and seemed to have its own separate routing.
I have had no warning lights or any ill effects that I could see of it being unplugged but thought better of leaving it, so joined the separate ends back together.
Anyone know what it is for?
TIA
