Done Combe 4 or 5 times albeit in my MX-5 ... However even with its massively reduced power I found the chicanes were quicker when taken in 3rd. The esses sometimes demanded second but the additional shift time as many other have mentioned, definitely evens things out.
If it's even slightly wet have your wits about you in Camp (final corner before the straight) - its a very, very under rated corner and I have seen more cars in the barrier there on track days than anywhere else. Everyone make a big hoo-har of Avon Rise / Quarry (and rightly so) but because of that Camp gets somewhat overlooked.
Great circuit, highly technical and fast. You'll have a blast OP!
