cel
And the point is, hands up who can't deal with a CEL? and who can't be bothered to find out how by searching of looking at the FAQ? How ever long they have been a member (guest?)
And Loftus I have much respect for you and I hope the OP gets his S sorted, I've even got a CEL reader he can buy from me for a tenner.

my local honda checked mine free of charge. But then my dad sends a lot of business their way. turned out to be a faultly o2 sensor, but worth a quick run down to ur local and see if they will stick their machine on it for you, if u find a friendly bunch you might get lucky. Mine was under warranty aswell
A decent code reader costs around £40. Make sure you get the latest and greatest as standards changed over the years. IF you have a de-cat, and I don't care which one it is, you are more likely to need one to reset the ECU on occasion. Buy it, use it, keep it in your car.
