Default CEL light been on for a while.

My CEL has been on since I had the recall work done on my MY00 car. I finally managed to get it to the dealer to check it out and switch it off.

The diagnosis - Low fuel warning

What a waste of time. I wasted 100 miles worth of fuel to get there and back.

The mechanic said this can be quite common I'm thinking of investing in one of those ECU fault readers. I don't want this hastle everytime my car is trying to tell me something. Does anyone have a link or can advise on the type of connector needed.

Thanks!

Happened to a guy with a brand new CTR at Bruntingthorpe... when the engine check light Fuse (it's the one with the engine check light icon on the underside of the fuse box) was removed & reseated the CEL went out...

That always happens if you pull that fuse all it does is keep a backup circuit, so the ECU doesnt reset each time the ignition is turned on
