Default Check engine light question...

When I turn my key to on position the check engine light stays on and it blinks 5 times before it goes off...is this normal?

I scanned the ecu and there is no error code...what can it be?

I'm asking because I had a cel light for o2 heater wire after installing the wideband...the cel is gone but now it blinks before it goes off...I don't know if this is normal because I really didn't pay attention to the light before...

Are you sure it's not the "MAINT REQUIR'D" light?

If you reset the ECU then the blinking CEL is normal. It states in the manual that it will blink for a while (can't remember how long) as it resets it's self..

Read the manual......it's in there...

I wonder if this is a new feature of the AP2? I've reset my ECU plenty of times (as experiments) using both the BACK UP fuse method and the OBD II scanner method and the light has never blinked afterwards.

It states in the manual something about the blinking and shutting off or blinking and staying on...

There is also a blurb on the gas cap issue and the CEL taking time to reset.

I'll pull up the manual and post it later...

I'm not sure if it's AP2 specific....but I remember this specific question in my own mind when I was troubleshooting a CEL after my SC install...
