Blue smoke you say...

Thats usually caused piston blow by, or broken/worn piston rings IIRC.

Cant see that with your car though hmmm

It can happen regardless of age IMO, but generally on higher milers.

2 ways it can get burned - pas tthe rings or through the crank case breather and combusted.

Keep an eye on it.

it doesn't smoke all the time, just when hot and i coast to a stop and pull away, and just now and again

I think you are worrying about nothing.

If you aren't using any oil, you are probably just using a bit of fuel.

My car stinks of alsorts of things noxious since removing the cat.

Has the odd puff of smoke, doesn't use any oil.

I hope that is the case, i think i will get myself a large can of carb cleaner and clean the plenum again and hrottle body and all the vaccum pipes, are there any pipes that suffer more from clogging at all?

I think you are looking into it too much.

Monitor you fuel consumption and you oil level.



22mpg+, 1 litre of oil/1000 miles is 'acceptable'
