Default Changing mufflers

As the topic suggests, I have been thinking about changing the mufflers to an aftermarket can.

Has anyone done this ? Can it be done without too many mods ? pros / cons ?

Sound clips ? (other than the 2 on youtube).

thanks

Check the link to mine in my signature

You can change the "cat back" section of the exhaust - all one peice. Different brands have different silencer boxes in which make it louder/quieter/change the tone etc. No cons, pro's = a nice sound and some weight saving as the oem system is pretty heavy!

Thinking about it, you wouldn't be able to just change the mufflers, as the OEM exhaust is a full piece of kit that goes straight through to the cat.
You need a full cat back exhaust mate, unless you fancy doing some cutting and welding!

Thats the problemo, you never know what its going to turn out like. I like the sound of yours, but its a little too loud for me. What mufflers did you use ? What was the

Sound_wave, if i can get boxes cheap enough and find someone who can weld i'll just chop them off.

Will probably be the same price to buy a decent exhaust though, but worth a look.

What's a muffler? Is it connected to your rims?

Mine was a custom one by the company details given in the thread.. They can easily make it quieter by just making the silence box a bit bigger etc etc.

I'd go with custom as you can get it made to your spec exactly. If you don't like it don't pay for it and about 2-3x cheaper than the "brand name" JDM kit.

NOO it's underneath the rear fender, near the trunk.
