I got my battery refurbed for £22.
I use a Li-Ion one now becuase they don't lose charge and are extremely light.
A better, cheaper mod than getting a carbon bonnet!

Quite an interesting idea - never thought about that Li-ion before as I'm 15 stone a Slimfast plan would always be the most logical choice to get my car lighter. However a 20lbs drop is quite a lot !

FWIW I have a Halfords one and I hate it just because of the brand (came with the car) but it's working fine and holds a decent charge so I have no complaints.

Halfords = 69.99
Honda 63.00
Tegiwa = 45.00 +10.00 but the fitting looks like it could be different (smaller?)
I wanted to put in today as the last thing I want is to be stranded again, so got the Honda one.
I am sure I could have got it a little lower in price but life is too short.
thanks everyone for your input.
note to self: investigate how you get a trade Halfords card.

It saves you a lot of money on oil, bulbs, tools and now I know, batteries! However, one should not neglect the local motorfactor either...

Not really...I've read about, and know plenty of owners who haven't had the best experience with non-OEM batteries over the years. There will be some cases that prove the opposite too however.

If you can't afford £63 for a battery that will probably last 5+ years or £1 per month, then you've bought the wrong car.
