Default Clean wheels

I have been out of action for a couple of months guys, but glad to be back now, as work seems to have calmed down a bit at the moment.

As I haven't been using the car much, I am going to do a big clean this weekend and start trying to use the car more.

I have just had all four wheels blasted and re conditioned to get rid of scratches etc. They look brand new and I want to keep them that way. But has anyone got any tips on how to keep the brake dust off them ? I try to wash them every week but it's not always possible. Are there any sprays out there that act as a barrier between the wheel and the dust ?

Also what leather cleaners and conditioners do people use as my leather is starting to look a bit worn.

P.S. When is the next meet near to London ?

Try giving them a polish with something like Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, the brake dust will still settle on the wheels but when you come to wash them again it just wipes off, its

UKjasonm - good idea. I'll definitely try it at the weekend.

Definitely try the Wonder Wheels product for removing brake dust - it instantly retsores the wheel to its original finish and only takes about 10 minutes for all 4 wheels. Then, if you want, you can apply other treatments for extra shine, gloss, etc..........

By far and away the best leather cleaner / protector /feeder I have found (via Tif ) is Zymol Leather Treat - it seems a little pricey (

At the risk of overdoing the Zymol -
They have a spray-on wheel cleaner and a spray-on wax which seems to work quite well

I polished my wheels the other day with a traditional paste polish - to cut back and clean thoroughly. Then I polished them with Autoglymn S Resin polish on top to give them the extra shine and protection. They look great now and the brake dust doesn't seem to be sticking quite so much. It also make the whole cleaning process much easier.

Word of warning: If you use Wonder Wheels or Autoglym wheel cleaner make sure you don't get it on your brake calipers. I send them a funny light green colour! Not unresolvable but looks stupid

Gus,
Any chance of a bit more detail on exactly what you've had done, cost etc?
