Default Clicking noise when car starts moving

people.

Finding on when I move from a stand still some times from the rear of the car I get a clicking noise. Its slowly getting worse since I've had the new wheels on and can some times happen on changing down a gear. I have been told its a fairly common problem. I would run a search if I knew the key words to run a search with!

Thanks

Chris

It could one of two things:

1 - Hub nut needs tightening to 220ftlbs
2 - Brake pads moving as shims are not gripping tight enough

Simple fix.

I would remove rear wheels and check the brake pads - if the rear pof them have slight scuff marks, that means they have been moving hence the clicking. Just slightly bend the shims so that they grip the pad properly.

If that doesn't fix the problem...

But two new hub nuts - around

I had this noise on my S2k and it was the hub nuts - fitting new ones with grease to the higher torque cured the problem (I had to get a garage to do the job though as I don't have any tools that will deal with 220 ft/lbs).
