Default Correct stereo/harness combo?

Looking at getting a decent bluetooth/mp3 stereo and want to keep the extra controls by the steering wheel. I know I need an extra harness but does this adapter replace the usual one you need?

http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=9073{22}0

http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/alpin...r-p-35780.html

Or do I need the patch lead as well? I've seen mixed responses so just thought I'd double check!

Thanks

Sam

You need the adaptor and an Alpine patch lead for those two.

People have had lots of problems with the Autoleads adaptors,so you may be better off with the Celsus unit: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ict-...l-adaptor.html plus the Alpine adaptor http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/inca...e-adaptor.html

On the site it says: * A stereo patch lead is required to install this adaptor, Please select your stereo patch lead above.

* If you purchase this stalk adaptor you will not need to purchase a Wiring Harness Adaptor

So after adding the patch lead will I need anything else? Or do I need an adapter and ignore the site? Also, if people have issues with autoleads I'll stay clear, thanks!

The two items are all you need. (A wiring harness adaptor is what you would normally need to connect an aftermarket stereo to a car. This is included in the Stalk Adaptor.)

Have a search here for Autoleads to see the problems people have had. I've not heard of any problems with the Celsus units.

The Alpine HU is £15 cheaper on Car Audio Direct too: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alp-...cde-134bt.html so it all works out roughly the same

I use the PC99-X61, it's a phaff to fit and then configure to the head unit but once it's done everything other than mute works seamlessly (unless you get a head unit with a mute input).

Quick tip, get it off ebay. You'll get it for £19.75 delivered with the patch cable included.

Plugged and played straight away when my Kenwood was fitted the other weekend. All buttons work, too.
