Ok day 3 of ownership and loving the car but I'm still at the stage where I have to drive without any stereo as the engine sounds better than all of my CD's....sure this will wear off at some point, maybe?

But anyway this leads to me to the problem - a nasty rattle which stays around until I drop off to all but 5MPH. it sounds to me like its coming from the windscreen heater vents up on top of the dash, really annoying!! Sounds almost like an electrical fault kind of noise but I know it just something stuck in there as it only happens with vibration.

Can anyone help at all??

Cheers

I had a monstrously annoying rattle that I was convinced was coming from the front passenger side dash.

However, it turned out to be the hood. You might want to adjust the rubber bump stops to make sure your hood is nice and snug.

Ok - I'll take a look at the roof see if I can see anything but I'm almost 100% sure this noise is coming from the front screen heater grill, about centre dash.

Something fallen in there?

Sounds like it could be the rear view mirror. At the bas of the mirror where it attaches to the windscreen, there is a screw - tighten it. Worth a try.

or check the passenger seatbelt. plug it into the sockrt and see if that's it... the cabin is so small that to determine where rattles are coming from can be very difficult

I found that I was getting a funny noise from the passenger seat area. It was not there all the time and after much agonising and cursing about the problem I finally discovered it was the misses!

Another thing you can check... open both doors and you'll see a hole in the side of the dash - remove the small cap and tighten the bolt.

I have got a little rattle coming from the roof....only on bumpy stuff...does my head in and needless to say disappears when the roof is off.

Any suggestions....is it worth tightening up the hood bolts
