I think i saw $50 each from hardtopguy. apparently the 04 tips stick out from the back of the car a bit more - but they fit straight on as direct replacements. But best to check direct with hardtopguy (I think he initially got 15 sets and sold them all immediately)

No offence intended, Triple-H - it's just cockney rhyming slang. For example, a suit is known as a whistle, from "whistle and flute". In the same way, a Yank becomes a septic, from "septic tank"........ No, it makes no sense to me either, but cockneys are a sub-species all to themselves

(In case that's even more baffling, cockneys are Londoners born in the east end of the city, by tradition within earshot of Bow bells. Think Dick van Dyke's ludicrous attempt at an English accent in Mary Poppins and you're not a million miles away )
----------------------------------------------------------

So, is Cockney rhyming slang widely used in the west midlands then?

There are parts of the Black Country where the accent is so thick and impenetrable that it's virtually impossible to tell what they say, so I can't discount the possibility that it's in wide usage there, Bigtone

But otherwise, not especially, no. Why? Does that somehow preclude me from making reference to it?

Of course not. I don't think blair's ludicrous thought police have quite managed to stop such comments just yet, although I bet they are working on it.
I have many friends in the west midlands and if black country is your indigenous neck of the woods, then it occurred to me that it seems comical for someone with that delightful dialect to be explaining about cockney rhyming slang to a Yank. American visitors that I have hosted around London on several occasions find it very difficult to comprehend what Londoners are actually saying and I remember a business colleague some years ago from Georgia, trying to make himself understood in The Wellington at Smethwick.
Perhaps "have a nice day" could be passed-off as "bostin good?"

PS I never did hear back from you about Bridgestone rear tyres actual width, from a thresd about a week ago.
