Detailing question
In the process of getting some new stuff and want to get a good swirl remover to use by hand and have narrowed it down to either the meguiars speed glaze or the swirl remover 2.0, both from what i can tell do the same thing, just the speed glaze seems to have a more abrasive rating (think its 4/10 as apposed to the 3/10 that the swirl remover has).
I was thinking maybe that since i was doing it by hand, the glaze would be better bet since im thinking it would require slightly less effort due to it being atouch more abrasive.
Any advice appreciated.

Personally I have never had any joy removing swirls by hand with any product. It is possible with some products to hide swirls, some products notoriously Meguiars on the shelf products (not the pro products)have 'fillers' and these can temporarily 'hide' the swirls for a few days or so.
Meguiars speed glaze is excellent with a random, and is one of my 'go to' products for sure, although I prefer the 3M stuff these days ... but in either case, by hand you will probably only risk damaging your paint rubbing too hard ... buy a random orbital
Never tried the swirl remover but it looks like it is from their body shop range, and these products are generally very good. However, as above, by hand they will simply not work for you, buy a random orbital if you are serious about swirl removal ... or an orbital if you are very serious about it
Good luck.

I agree also, never had much luck by hand and when I was an younger chap at a body shop/valeting garage always was taught by using a machine, there is an art to this and I have learned the hard way in the past by rubbing through on corners.
Are you swirls all over the car or just on select panels ?

Buy a Dual Action (DA) polisher.
Get 2 pads one fine the other medium and some good polish like menzerna.
Go to a class or else try reading some excellent guides on DW(detailing world).
It will serve you all your life for any car you buy.
Good luck.

to be honest, the swirls are very light, but the paintwork is black and shows up marks very easy. I use super resin polish currently and thought it does remove light scratches completely, it only really covers swirls, i polish it regularly and thought id be better swapping to smething that will remove swirls rarther than cover them up only for them to come back acouple of weeks later.
