See my posts here under the same username. You'll see a pic of the Mobius mounted on the Scosche magnetic system, as well as a pic of my setup in my S

Super little bit of kit in my opinion. You can find all the bits on Amazon for conveniences. Mobius might be slightly cheaper elsewhere, just make sure you're buying a genuine one and not a Chinese fake.

Precisely my attitude. No GPS data in my mind means potentially less incriminating, but video evidence there if needed for me.

This is an alterntive to the card reader you posted for not much more and it does a few really useful extra things too:

I have a camera mounted on the wind deflector between the seats powered from a multiway plugged into the cigar lighter. It records everything that happens inside the car as well as outside (including the speedometer which may be a good or bad thing). I chuck a black teeshirt over it when I'm parked so it's completely invisible against the black interior from outside the car. In my Zed, I have a windscreen mounted camera so I have to take it down if I ever park in the street.

That larger Kingston card reader does look good and well priced and I can see how the internal battery to charge USB devices would be useful as well.

It's also quite a bit bigger than the reader that I have which sits nicely in one of the cubby holes in my secret storage organiser.

I'll bear your device in mind as I could do with something similar to that for something else, cheers!

OP sounds like he got a lucky escape - glad to hear it!

Yep agreed - engine on, lights on.

I'd rather someone said to themselves, "What does that guy have his lights on for?" as I approach.

Further to this, always assume everyone else is an idiot driving whilst unconscious.

I've got one of these in my S2000:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Amb...+ambarella+005

Cheap for the peace of mind that it provides in the event of an altercation with any of the witless morons who populate our roads, and whose numbers seem to increase by the day. Sometimes it seems as though the zombie apocalypse has arrived, and they're all driving cars. I chose it after reading some good reviews on Techmoan, and it really is a good piece of kit.

I have one of these in my everyday car:

With the additional rear-facing camera.

Both are hard wired, so they're permanently running.
