Flickering dash and electrical problems

Right for those that are interested i found a few useful bits of information out regarding the regulator and rectifier.
The honda manual states a simple way of testing the rectifier for faults. As expected one of the diodes on mine is dead.
The replacement regulator arrived today and that is identical to the OEM unit apart from that regulator itself is soldered into position where as the original is manufactured abit differently. I guess with the soldered joint there is the potential for it to heat up and melt but really it shouldn't be getting that hot.
I have no way of testing to see what voltage the regulator is set at but i imagine it would be at 14 + volts.
I have found nowhere that stocks a rectifier that fits so you have to either buy a Honda item, use a second hand alternator and wait for it to go wrong again or fit a external rectifier with its own cooling. Something like this could be made with out too much hassles and would make the alternator far more reliable.

Hopefully i will have an alternator tomorrow so i will be able to get the car running again. I have been limited to short journeys as i really dont like the idea of frying the cars electrics with over voltage.

After much looking the part number for the S2000 alternator rectifier
http://store.alternatorparts.com/INR...lternator.aspx
I have been assured this is the correct part and it also looks spot on. Even with shipping it would work out cheaper than the Honda part number.
These should also be compatible

The reconditioned alternator i brought the other month died within weeks and i rebuilt a good one out of the parts. I emailed the seller and explained rather than a refund i would like the part number for the rectifier and two new rectifiers if they could send them over. They agreed so at least i will have two spares.
The rest of the S2000 alternator is pretty reliable its just the rectifier thats the weak part. I reckon if you had one that was just flickering you could change the brushes and the rectifier and it would be great for a good few 1000 miles.

Anyone had luck fixing this? Checked all fuses and tried new DRL module.

Did you have any luck on a fix for this.? Videos speak a thousand words very nice. I just bought my S and I changed the radio out and installed an amp and then this issue came up. I unplugged the radio and the amp and it's still doing it so I'm figuring its a coincidental issue. Everyone talks about the rectifier, but I'm not 100% convinced. I'll probably give it a try anyways to see what happens.
