Default Front bumper alignment

Morning all,

While I have been replacing my knackered headlight, and as part of my ongoing work to turn Lou into the best Lou he can be, I've had the front bumper off and on a fair bit over the last couple of weeks.

The problem I have is that the front bumper doesn't align quite right against the wings / headlights. The n/s is pretty good, but the o/s has a gap of around 10mm between bumper and the bottom of the headlight.

As far as I can tell from looking and tweaking and what have you, the main adjustment for this is in the positioning of the headlight support bar which the bumper clips into - there seems to be a reasonable amount of adjustment in this. Is there anything else I should be looking to adjust as well? The headlight seems to be fairly static in positioning being bolted through the top.

Am I missing any vital adjustment points or is it a case of minor adjustments til I get it right?

I'm sure I read somewhere on here a year or so ago about the relocating tabs getting bent when the bumper is removed and need bending back into place to align properly.

The best way to get the headlamp to fit neatly is to pull back the arch liner so you can get to the lower headlamp bolts, slacken all the headlamp mounting bolts then move and hold the lamp into position and nip up the bolts double check and tighten, This is assuming you've fitted the bumper correctly first or not bent the bumper tap locating bar under the lamp.

Finally solved this tonight.

I was missing the screws that go vertically upwards through the bumper tab into the wing under the headlight right in the corner. One of plastic screw holders was missing too so I used a spare clip for that side instead.

If anyone else us having trouble with the top corners of the bumper not during near and flush with the bottom corner of the wings, it might be this.

You win the pie!

You have to remove the bracket under the headlight and it takes ages of trial & error to get it back just right.

Those too! Sometimes the tread strips and you need a new plastic grommet.
