Bump, can anyone help with the bits I need please (just list the numbers)?
Looks like you will already have everything that you need to fix the reported problems.

If nothing is seized it should be a relatively straightforward job to just swap over the parts. Let me know if you need any help with this.

Steven,

Thanks for that, I'll get everything ordered, and thanks for the offer of fitting assistance.

WiM have quoted me a pretty good price (for replacing both front and rear suspension), including a geo, so I'll get it done there. Some of the rear bits are seized so probably a lot easier to leave it with them.

Yes, but if you don't have a problem with them then why replace them?

I'm blindly following Razz' advice! (As you can tell, I've no idea what they are or what they do )

Happy to listen to your sage advice too

Hmm .... my 2 cents ...

If the trackrod end balljoints are old and worn or the bolts on them sieze or they require slightly more agressive removal for the price from the USA ( probably half what they are here ) ordering two and having them fitted at the same time is probably peanuts on the grand scheme of things.

The problem with this job is that once you start, you can't stop until you finish and having to rely on parts supply and prices from HUK parts bin is a costly exercise. Given what you're already spending ( and saving ) on the other parts it's probably not worth not getting them.

UK price - PFKL693690END COMP., TIE ROD£49.81

USA price 53540-S47-951END, TIE RODJPN2 $33.95

I rest my case.

Good markup by HondaEU eh?

I'd put it to the Japanese designer that Hondas own parts prices are making his baby into a breakers dream and an insurers nightmare. That differential is why they are written off as uneconomical to repair even after a relatively minor prang.

Thank to everyone for their help with this and the associated rear suspension parts thread.

Took the car to WiM yesterday to have all the arms changed - all done for a good price including a geo.

All the bolts came out ok bar the long siezed offside camber which required some "persuasion"

The Front Comlpliance bushes were not in a good way:

I've left the old arms with WiM with a view to them creating a swap service for other people with polybushes/Mugen/whatever. If you want to take advantage, get in touch with Tony at WiM.

The car feels a lot more "together" now over the smaller freqency bumps - I've not really had a chance to give it a proper "leaning on it" test as yet.

Sounds good, hopefully no eyes were removed either. When WIM did mine one of the mechanics got metal behind his eye :s

It is a complete nightmare of a job if most of your bushes are seized. Managed to do mine with some help from Floppy, Whaninoz and another friend. It's worth spraying the arms before they go back on to freshen things up.
