Geometry Question
Hi,
As some of you may know I bought my car in December, but made a school boy error and didn't have the geo checked prior to buying. Now considering some of the stories I have heard on hear of it costs £1000+ I am nervous about this being required but wanted to check if there are any signs that would indicate the dreaded seized bolts.
I suspect the only way to identify is to have it checked out but at moment the car drives straight and true with even tyre wear. I have also recently had it serviced and adviced by local garage apart from couple of points I had done with them everything else was fine with the car.
Any advice on where to get the geo checked and also other signs to look out for would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I hope it isn't the seized bolts as people on here seem to have quoted c£1k. I also checked the tyre wear when i got home and appears to be even all round front and back.
I bought mine about 2 months ago. Its a 2002 car with 115k on the clock. After going through its service history, it soon became apparent that the geometry had never been done. Like you, I read many threads on here and started to panic about huge costs. However, I bit the bullet and took it to A-Line who have a full hunter setup. The guys there are amazing, at the start everything was looking jammed and I could see huge bills - but after the guy took out some stupidly long breaker bars, a blow torch and some general tricks of the trade, combined with brute force and sheer willpower, by jesus somehow everything was moving again and I now have a fast road setup.
The moral of the story, the geo is a known issue, but dont be totally convinced that your in for huge bills, you might get lucky.

Spoke to previous owner briefly and doesn't look like it has been done for 3 yrs so hoping it will be ok.
