not had my s too long its done 35000 miles full history etc and it goes ok but it really doesn't feel like it has 237 bhp, it seems to run out of power in 4th gear upwards

 

unless you are above the speed limit.. 4th and 5th etc will feel like that as you will not be in VTEC... the car has only 150hp or so to 6000rpm..

 

Vtec doesn't feel all that great either, maybe i need to get honda to check it out, i can hear it but can't feel a great deal

 

What was your last car before the S?

 

Have you checked the oil level ?

Then get it Dynod .

Some people who come from Turbos seem to complain that it's hard work to get any power out of the S.

 

yes oil is clean and on the mark, running mobile 10w 40, last car was a 528 bmw but have had tvr's and caterhams etc if it is ok, then what is an effective way of tuning it, hi flow cat and air filter, dont want to make it sound too noisy

 

There's not much you can do for more power without a blower I'm told, get it dynod if you're worried that it isn't performing though.

Replacement exhaust and Decat will make it noisy.

 

i have also noticed a rattle about 4-5000rpm when its cold, maybe a bit lower in the revs but its before vtec, i have changed timing chain tensioner, any ideas?
