should be 055 in an MY02 AFAIK
It may just be a loose heatshield.. The 055 clutch was standard from late MY01 cars onwards IIRC.

Strangely enough, I noticed this on my car yesterday, so have been reading with interest.

Out of gear engine running I can hear a marked difference when pressing the clutch in and out. Mine was registered Jan '03, so i'm presuming it's got the 055 clutch in it.

I've got a short sound clip of the noise, (not top quality), if someone could host it for me?

the whirring sound is different from the one described in the TSB, which is a buzzing on deceleration at specific revs. the recall will not help with a whirring sound. the whirring sound will be your clutch release bearing if you can hear it in neutral but it goes when you depress the clutch (the s2000 is prone to them getting noisy) or if you are unlucky, a gearbox problem.
