Default Help! - problems with alarm

Unbelievable - I've owned my S for one and a half years with no problems, and the infamous alarm fails at the worst possible time...

It was 3.30am this morning and I was about to set off for Luton Airport from South London - however shortly after starting up the car, the alarm started going and kept going until I turned the car off, removed the key from the ignition, and waited a minute or so - at which point the alarm went off. Tried this several times, same result This hasn't helped my popularity with the neighbours.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on and how to fix it??? I tried it again this evening and same problem And I can't think of any reason why it would suddenly start going wrong as nothing untoward happened prior to it.

Reason I'm so hacked off is that it set off an unfortunate series of events...all that faffing around trying to fix it took time, eventually I called for a taxi - which being at 4am took ages to arrive...when it did arrive the driver did his best to make up the time, however he missed the turning off the M1 for the airport and got lost in Luton itself...I missed my plane. And the taxi cost me

My one has done that a couple of times, I just left it running for like 5 mins ( bollox to my neighbours ) switched off, reset and restart and it was ok.

Had to get a new battery a little while after so may be your battery is on its way out?

Mine did the same - new battery solved it, it seems low battery plus dampness is a recipe for noise

Thanks for the advice - I turned it on and left it idling for 5 minutes or so with the alarm on, the alarm then stopped. I then took it for a drive, hopefully this works - will find out next time I start the car.
