Help required with using a Flashpro
My car was first registered on 28/09/06 and it is definitely a drive by wire model, I would like to remap it using a Hondata Flashpro but according to the Hondata web site the ecu fitted to my car is not compatible with the Flashpro. The part number of the ecu is 37820-PCX-G06, the ecu that will work with a Flashpro is 37820-PCX-G16. I have tried a breakers to source the correct ecu but they want a lot of money for them making a Flashpro uneconomic. Has anyone had any experience of using a Flashpro with the ecu fitted to my car?
If you guys post your VINs it might help. 2006 models started being produced in 2005 and the road registration doesn't seem like a good way to cross check anything regarding the Honda model year (vs registration year).

Thanks for taking the trouble to find the trouble to find the part number of the ecu. It is the same number as the ecu fitted to my car, so I can buy with confidence. What difference does the Flashpro make? I'm after mid range not top end performance.
Not a lot! I picked an old one (no Bluetooth) up cheapish, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
I've lowered the vtec point a bit, played around with the launch control (it isn't very sophisticated on the S2). The data logging shows it is running a bit rich at some points in the map, so maybe when I'm feeling brave I'll have a look into tweaking that.
Really I got it when it was available - 'just in case' I toy with the idea of charging it.

With a Gernby tune (vs a home brew tune) the car is transformed. To me anyway. A buddy with another S2000 said it turned into a beast. (His term, not my claim!

Messing with the ECU with FlashPRO is very simple even if you're like me and don't know a thing about tuning. Since I don't and didn't I opted for a professional Gernby tune. All done with data captures and via email. Highly recommended. You can bugger the tune later if you think you know more than he does.

I'm uncertain if Gernby will tune a non-USDM car with FlashPRO but it's worth a try as the hardware and software look very much the same. I believe USDM cars have a form of traction control via VSA. The FlashPRO software includes 3 versions for the North American, European, an Asian S2000 cars with all listed as AP2 an engine that was never available in Europe other than grey market imports so I'm guessing the software will tune the DBW AP1 engines as well. Local experience is a good yardstick.
Worth a try and the process cost me well under US$100 two years ago. An hour on a dyno is more than that here. Car can be tuned on the road. Watched my buddy's supercharged car being tuned this way with the tuner in the passenger seat with a laptop.
