I think I am going to add some felt patches to the inside to stiffen the area and help spread the stress of the fold.

I noticed a hole in mine 20 minutes before seeing this thread...... drivers side worn from the inside by the rough hinge joint in the hood.

I have now checked mine and I have a similar mark although it would not show up in a photo as it is not as bad as the one pictured. I will keep watching it for now!
