Default lining up engraving on stock shift knob

similar to the other thread with the voodoo knob, but i jus installed my headunit and had to take off the shift knob. upon replacing it, i can't seem to get the shift patter engraving to line up straight. when i tighten as much as i can, it's jus under a quarter turn to the right. and if i loosen it so that it is straight, it's much higher than how it was stock. thanks!

If it is OEM stock, it should have a lock nut below it. Just line it up, then tighten the lock nut.

Hmmm. Mine never came with a lock nut. I guess one of the 5 past owners of the car did something to it.

well, theres two rows of thread, it's higher but not much.

the oem jam nut is already countersunk, it will sit higher no more than 1/4 of an inch
