Default I'm flabbergasted!

Driving around on a day like today - it's absolutely roasting out there - hurrah, I hear you cry: summer is finally here!

So why on earth are there so many MGF, MX-5 and Beemer drivers with their flippin' ROOFS UP???????

Jeeez...

Alex.

This continually astounds me - people buy 2 seater roadsters with all its inherent disadvantages....and then fail to use what is surely the feature which drew the majority of them to the car in the first place........it really is beyond me

Yep, Jill and I were out on SuperMeet2 route planning duties yesterday ( a real bloody chore too - all that top-down driving through gorgeous mountains and along the coast ) - anyway, we sat THREE convertibles with roof raised (one MGF, one BMW 3 series and one VX220)

I don't understand 'em either.

I have a lot of fun pulling up behind people with hoods up on the motorway during my commute.

I give them a big grin

So far I've only seen one S2000 though. A Silverstone, with a hardtop on! . (A little while ago.)

I was brave enough to ask (on the MGF BBS) why so many of the owners refuse to drop their roof's on such sunny days. Needless to say I was very heavily flamed .
I never knew hairdressers were so easily offended.
