Default Immobiliser Issues

Morning all.

Had a slight panic this morning as my immobiliser symbol on the dash wouldn't go out when I turned the ignition on. I just have the factory immobiliser at the moment and no alarm (Has been like this for years).

Just made me a little nervous as it's the first time it's happened and we're on our France trip in 3 weeks and I have visions of being stranded at a French petrol station.

Anyone know where the unit is and how I can bypass it if I need to? (Answers by PM would be great pls).

It started fine eventually and the battery hasn't been disconnected recently so this has come out of the blue.

Thanks

Gary

Immobiliser is built into the ECU

You would need to run another ECU which has the immobiliser removed or didn't have one from factory. You would also have to ground the fuel pump.

In regards to your issue; Either the immobiliser coil is going bad or the chip in the key

So I'm possibly looking at a pre-owned ECU, keys and full lock set from a breakers??

You could get away with just a immobiliser coil or a new key programmed
