Default Interior lights problem

Hi,

Sometimes my interior lights wont come on, the actual switch/connection inside the light cluster is fine so its not that. I had removed the rubber dust caps present on the little door mechs/pistons (located on frame) a while back but seen nothing really to fix, IIRC i did lube them.

I do notice that if i wiggle the door mech the lights come on?

Any ideas?

Cheers

The door push switchs are crap. One of mine stoppped working at 2 years old. It and the other side are now both faulty again. Door switches are cheap and easy to change out. Confirm its the switch just by disconnecting the wire and manually grounding it, Light should come on.

Mine have never worked. Maybe it's time I looked at it.

if their the style i think they are (ie: generic halfords stuff), then they should be a few quid to replace.
same sort of cheap poxy switch they use for bonnet detection on alarm systems

remove said switch, a bit of sandpaper to clean up the contacts and some grease to prolong the issue.

One tends to bend them getting in & out. Which is why they bind a bit.
