I installed mine yesterday evening. It took all of 30 minutes, starting with removal of the the centre console to reinstalling everything and finally connecting the iPod for a quick try.

An easy install with the benefit of reading some of the posts here.

I have to admit that I have run the USB lead to the net pocket in the passenger's footwell. That pocket is pretty much useless and so long as Kelsey Grammer doesn't ask for a lift anywhere, the iPod should be reasonably safe from errant feet.

The Alpine unit just fits. The big knob does touch the flap - and I fitted the unit as far back as the brackets would allow - but as it still closes, that's all that matters.

I only ran the USB lead as this seems to be all that is required with the later generation Ipods and the iPhone.

The Incartec dash control interface works perfectly and it's reasonably good value for money.

Really odd Ian, I just don't have that problem at all.
Danny, read Ian's post again:

"I've just fitted the xda-100"

I think we know why he has the problem

I just fitted my ida x100 unit.

No problem with the door and the big knob. I knew this in advance so i pushed the unit as much as possible to the back.

One thing i didn't like is that the unit doesn't support RDS.

I live in dubai, ordered the unit from ebay USA seller.

But the unit is amazing and installation was a breath.

Used Modifry Pnp DCI.

Cheers

Now looking into this and the UK spec does support RDS.

Who listens to the stupid radio, the only thing you need it for is traffic updates and they get theirs from TMC. So if you buy a TMC capable doofer (GPS) then you're sorted, no crappy radio only your own music, like ABBA and meatloaf and stuff

I guess the ABBA, meatloaf etc are all on your Ipod so you can play it whilst learning to fly
