Usb cable allows skipping to a section of the alphabet though so you dont have to scroll endlessely through each album/artist/track. IPOD fullspeed does not allow this!

to do it on the XDA you hold in the big ugly (!) button in the cetre and turn.

I've just fitted the xda-100

The big knob is OK - it does touch the flap, and the flap doesn't open as well as it did before, but it fits.

I knew I'd read somewhere about an issue with the knob...

As a matter of interest Ian, have you managed to configure the S audio controls with the Alpine? I've been reading a PDF of the XDA-100 manual and it would appear to be quite versatile in adapting to various controls.

Ian, have you relocated the bottom clips for the centre console corrctly. They are very inclined to bend away from the holes. I find pushing the bottom in and poking your fingers in via the hole for the head unit allows access to push the clips into the correct holes. Otherwise the flap catches and wont open correctly. HTH

I must admit that I have the iDA-X001 and have no problems with the flap opening or closing. It's a bit tight getting the HU in at installation but it fits fine.
I would suggest getting Modifry adapter to use the dash controls too.
