[QUOTE=Gaspode,Jun 22 2008, 02:43 PM] You are missing the trick.

You order it on the web ( while in store )
You can even choose the store to pick it up in.... eg the one you are in.
You get an order no.
You show the order no to the muppet. - the order no will now be on his system
And you get the

Polemicist,

I've recently fitted the Alpine iDA-X100 (the one with the big knob) in my S2000 and although it's close, the flap will close fine. I've also got the older iDA-X001 in my other car and I'd definitely recommend the X100. The differences between the two are fairly minor, but the X100 is just soooo much easier to use. They've obviously listened to feedback about the X-100.

The USB cable that comes with it is almost made to measure for running along the transmission tunnel and secreting your iPod in the glovebox under the wind deflector, though you'll need a more recent iPod to make use of the USB interface (any one with a colour screen should be fine).

I also got the bluetooth interface (KCE300 or something like that) which works brilliantly with the head unit. The little net in the passenger footwell was almost designed to take the bluetooth unit!

I also got the InCarTec steering wheel control adapter, which again I'm very happy with. The controls are perfect with the big source button switching between radio/iPod/bluetooth and the "channel" button skipping tracks or seeking for the next radio station, which in my opinion is much more useful than switching between FM/AM/LW.

Hope that helps,
Neil

Thanks for the info. Neil

I've ordered the iDA-X100 and InCarTec interface from CAD - arrives on Tuesday with any luck.

The KCE300 B/T interface has been replaced by the 350, so I'll grab one of these when they're available.

Usb cable allows skipping to a section of the alphabet though so you dont have to scroll endlessely through each album/artist/track. IPOD fullspeed does not allow this!

to do it on the XDA you hold in the big ugly (!) button in the cetre and turn.
Hi Neil

How is your's wired-up? Presumably from your comment, only via USB

Regards

I don't have one! (I have a 9887 which does it on the radio preset buttons) but have 2 friends who have one and have run it via USB only confirming the operation of the large button. Why do you ask?

Just trying to avoid additional messing about with the install - if I don't need to to go with the Hispeed connection, I'll only install the plain USB lead.
