this site has little if any relevance to Honda from what I've seen over the years

Actually not Lee, the way the industry works is that the dealers are separate businesses and their own entity. It is like Tesco selling Kellogs. The dealerships sell Honda (and other brands of car).
It's perception that counts though, no matter what the facts are and that's the point I'm trying to make.

Dealers have in the past have lost the franchise rights in the past due to poor performance, although I don't reckon there are as many queuing up to do the business now that this may be a thing of the past.
As said above Honda will only hear of poor dealer skills from the punter, although the customer service dept. are no/little help in my experience, I have been promised an apologetic letter and possibly compensation in the post this week, but I'm no holding my breath.

2 cars doesn't constitute a systemic problem (as far as they're concerned - yet, anyway) so there's no reason particularly for HUK to get involved.
In purely legal terms, the buyer's contract is with the franchised dealer. HUK is under no obligation to do anything. The dealer will doubtless report back into HUK, not least to get the warranty work and parts authorised, but I'm not sure why anyone is expecting anything more than that, TBH.
We already know that they are not bothered about "perceptions" in enthusiast communities from the response to the attempt to get them to recognise and do something about seized suspension bolts....

Let's keep it simple....
Dealer orders the part from HUK.
HUK order the part through their supply chain.
HUK then tell you it will take circa 4 to 5 weeks for the part to turn up at the dealers door.
To me - That is quite simply unacceptable.
But maybe that is the industry norm and my expectations unrealistic.
Anyway - more news will follow shortly.

Indeed, which is one of the reasons why the Owners Club was set up - they recognise the owners club. The club has offered help to both cars affected in this instance, but as yet has not been taken up on the offer.
