It definately is a j's ecu, the vtec point has shifted, it looks geniune and there is a definate improvement - but just not as much as I was expecting - I guess it'll all come together when I get the j's exhaust.
Hmmm, I wouldn't be so sure on the exhaust. The standard one flows very well and it's commonly thought that changing it to another twin exit system is only a benefit in terms of weight, and noise if you like that sort of thing.
You are looking for about 10 bhp peak and some torque through the rev range, so the difference won't be massive like adding a turbo, but it should be noticable.
Presume you are using 99 RON?
PS - I think Taseas is just laughing as he is a fellow Greek

I sold mine to a chap in Italy so I don't think its mine.
Mine was set up for manifold, decat, intake, throttle body and exhaust all of which where J's with the exception of the intake which was AEM.
It took a while after install and reset before I could see the benefits of the ECU. It didn't happen the first time I accelerated.
If it is genuine and your mods are suited to it you will notice a distinct difference at VTEC changeover and increased pull through the range.
One of the best mods I put on my car

Why's that so funny?

I don't think Taseas was loughing meaning you got scammed, just wasn't expecting you got it from Greece
I know him personally too. Like i told you before the J's ECU was tested in 2 cars before post it, to see it was was working perfectly but if there is any problem with it you send it back to me and you get full refund
By the way i am glad you notice a difference, but you will need all mods to get the best out of it
Paul the ECU is 100% genuine J's. I was laughing because like MB said i am Greek and i found surprising the fact that you have a "Greek" ECU... Like i said before enjoy and don't be afraid of the rev limiter, it wont be an issue.

Driving to work today it definately felt a lot better. Off the lights it would accelerate more instantly (where before it would bog down slightly) and in some of the corners or off roundabouts, it'd pull off with greater haste even though it wasn't revving a lot.
The Vtec point seems lower, but less noticable.
Also each gear change when accelerating, there's no bogging down in the next gear if you say change around 8300 rpm (where previously there would be as it'd be slightly off vtec).
I think the feeling of lack of umpff at the top end will probably be due to the extra mid range making the normal 'top end rush / peak' less noticable.
The reason I wanted a j's racing exhaust was I have heard they save a lot of weight, give good gains (70mm would match the exhaust manifold and decat) and the noise is absolutely lovely.
Do you know the best place to buy one in
The VTEC engagement is set at around 5200rpm. You should notice a stronger pull in the low to mid range and then a much harder pull up to the redline of 9200rpm.
You really do need most of the mods to fully benefit from the ECU as it has been mapped to fully utilise the increased air flow etc.

VTEC will be less pronounced but you pick up about 7-10bhp
.
Honda created a 'vtec kicked in yo feeling' due to the fueling where it dips then jumps up, this vtec engagement point fueling wioth J's is now smoothed to cancel out the dip in power and the cam point change over is now at its optimum for power.
Honda basically set the oem vtec point to create a pronounced feeling/kick when vtec engaged even though it wasnt the best for performance.
Hopefully tomorrow when i tune my car i can highlight this when i scan in dyno graphs.
