The review is almost identical, went from ITR to EVO and was very dissapointed.
Are you Mark Jones? (I should work for the CIA, I'm sure I could uncover bin laden lurking somewhere on a car website )

Dramatic 'dun-dun-DAAAAAAA!'
The foul mouthed, opinionated, Muppet slaying, soon to be mega-pimp, Mr. Biscuit is unmasked to reveal the mild mannered Marc Jones.........absent minded, part time car reviewer

We....ell blow me Mr Jones j/K You're the second person I've heard, who has owned and not been impressed with an Evo! Just goes to show there'a lot more to be desired in an enthusiasts car than just performance.
I've absolutely no doubt that the Impreza also is great fun, but I just wished it looked better! We should all be grateful of course that these cars are available to us at prices we can try to aspire to, but my rough rule of thumb when I look at some of these offerings is 'How would I feel about cleaning it?'
So I take it you've driven the S2000. Whatcha think initially?

I had a test drive in one 18 months ago and if I had been given a decent trade in price for my Evo, I would have had it. The salesman (Cornes of Ewell) drove the car faster than any car I've been in (including Evo) and encouraged me to do the same.
He told me I wasn't driving it quickly enough, so I floored it on a roundabout, felt the back move, lifted, corrected, floored it again and then flew. That one moment sealed it for me.
My reticence since has been the wet handling / safety side of it. Hit black ice 5 years ago and have been paranoid since. When I saw the 2002 mods it was the justification I'd been waiting for.
... only 90 days to go until delivery

Just to update you guys. My car has just had a fault fixed. I've been around 15-20bhp down since new. I'm not going into details on the forums since I'm currently in the process of complaining to Honda UK - I want compensation for the lost power for 4500 miles!
The car feels better, but it still doesn't have the rawness or bark I'd like. Certainly a noticable improvement though.
Nice to have 237bhp at last...
Dog Biscuit - nice words on the ITR. I did test drive an EVO VI before getting the S2k, but it was not fun when stuck in traffic, and felt a little souless. My S2000 is a lot better now, but I'm still thinking of making a few changes to liven it up.
