Default Knock sensor location help!

Hey Guys,

Since looking at swapping my engine out I could not find a decent picture of where the knock sensor was as all. This is the sensor that generally seems to get broken when removing the starter motor on clutch jobs, gearbox jobs and engine swaps.

Once my engine was out (and my sensor broken ) I decided to take a clear photograph to help people who search for this in the future. The photo is of the intake side of the engine and the knock sensor is the green part circled. I'll try to get some more of a slight angle, but it gives you an idea how far along and up the engine it is. The starter is just below the sensor and to the right.

Hope this helps some people!

Ha Ha, yes it is not the easiest thing to spot - but at least it's green and with a torch it is possible.

These pictures may make it easier to find in-situ, and show how to get at it without going under the car.

Good photos Gav! I'm guessing you took your IAC off the intake to get the ratchet in?

Ah, good point, you can only do it like in my photos when you have DBW throttle, as you can see in my second picture there is no IAC in the way!
